If the thief's nice and all, he takes the money out and hands you back the obvious semtimental-value clip back, if not, the little switch you threw as you were handing it to him waits one minute then zaps the hell out of the surrounding area.

Testing his niceness by using a "gold-plated money clip" is
not a fair test. In fact it really more of an intelligence test
then a niceness test. The real test is, if he shoots you
after you give him the money he's not a nice guy. |

You might want to rethink the one minute time delay,
bullets travel pretty quick. Might want to go with a half a
second delay after you let go of the clip and hope the
hand folding the gun lurks upward when the zaps makes his
finger spasm and pull the trigger. |

Other that that it's a fine idea. |

//if he shoots you after you give him the money// then he's a murderer who just announced his location, not a robber. The shiny clip is to ensure that he puts it in his pocket rather than just tossing it to the ground.

And I'd *much* rather somebody be tased *after* their weapon is not pointed at me, dunno about you. |

Or you could also use it to tazer people and then clip the money out of their wallets after they fall on the ground. |
