There seem to be a few indicators that we all take to be evidence we are dealing with a mad scientist / Fruitcake professor type.
The idea here is to compose a whole manual of the indicators, and run a long, psychologically planned marketing campaign targetted specifically at mad inventors, screwloose
scientists and eccentrics in such a way as to make it absolutely irresistible to the personality type.
The aim here is to have the targetted demographic begin to adopt similar dress and habits, following the uptake of the compelling ideas presented in the literature.
Then we can adjust our perception accordingly when we meet someone who is wearing, say, a white lab coat and an origami rabbit on their head. Dingaling Guidelines

Magic marketing strikes again. Because the idea itself seems pretty thin, I think you're trying to make a point -- but I can't tell what it is, other than "there are crazy people, and I'm not," which must be very comforting. |

I resemble that remark... |

Comforting indeed. Ya happy now? |

"get all nutcases to make it obvious they're nutcases" - not much of an idea at all. It's essentially a "let's all," but with marketing instead of coercion. |

Wouldn't work anyway: as soon as it came close to working, some ironic group (teenagers? Bohemians?) would affect the same, ah, indicators for the sake of, well, irony. |

As for myself, I'm keeping this ultralight brain wave protector on my head even if it does look like a paper rabbit to you. |

where do you go to pick your lap goat and organic rabbit?
Do they start breeding if you keep them together? |

I thought they all tended to congregate on certain websites... |

Your goat has been making indecent suggestions to my cat. |

An easy way to spot them is that they
frequently babble on about some strange
website to do with bakeries. |
