When I was young, I found the ‘bakery so wonderful,
a miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the ‘bakers whom I’d see, were annotating so happily,
joyfully, playfully ‘baking just like me.
But then I went away, for a while, to be sensible,
logical, productive and practical.
And
when I came back, I found a world filled with the indefensible,
clinical, unintellectual and cynical.
Most times I bake, while all the world's asleep,
And I ask myself questions far too deep, for simple man.
Won't you please, please tell me why we've spurned,
The sense of whimsy for which we all yearned?
Now watch what you say or they'll be calling for an MFD,

Well it's about time the old guard stood up to it then.
I have to say I have had enough of the recent outbreak of personal chit-chat and using HB as an alternative counselling tool. Where has the wit and banter gone?
I still think of U.B.s anno to my Unhinged Sandwich post: "Ham on wry". Ahhh, those were the days. |
