Time in the wardrobe

Houses are packed full of fun these days. Joyous gadgets, heaving bookshelves, blurty audiotelevisual fun, even crosswords, chess, rowing-machines, wives and lovers...

Occasionally, though, there can be too much of a good thing. I suggest at least ten minutes each day in the wardrobe, if you have one big enough to fit you. Close the door, move among the clothes, and enjoy the silence and the darkness. Time to reflect, create, relax.

I started doing this two years ago whilst I was on the dole and facing criminal charges for shoplifting a small nest of tables from John Lewis. Since then, I've invented a new hinge for NASA's space doors, got a job as a senior lecturer in Anglo-Saxon, Norse, and Celtic at Downing College, Cambridge and am now engaged to a well-known fashion model heiress. And I put it all down to time in the wardrobe.

Hoo Ra! Rah rah rah! Ra! I like this, i'd do it if I could fit inside. (I used to do this sometimes before it got too filled with stuff)

Only if the back opens into Narnia.

"Ohh, there goes me knotty pine!"

Please respond if anyone gets that.

I do this in the boot of my car.... nothing like curling up with a remold tyre, a bag of spanners and a scissors jack - bit like having a secret girl friend really +

Or, just close your eyes and meditate. It's like having a portable wardrobe, and is a little baked already.

       Zzzz...

Surely the smell has a lot to do with it? That lovely musty mothbally smell that is produced by a decade of unworn suits?

Mr Phase, Dec 19 2005

then again, what do they say about coming out of the closet?

xandram, Dec 19 2005

Oh yes, nothing quite like taking a short trip down to the wardrobe.

Inspired by that recent Narnia movie, perhaps?

This would be a let's-all, no?
