Toilet Fiber

Toilets are sometimes constipated too.

Next to the plunger by every toilet should be a large laundry detergent sized box of Toilet Fibre. Before every usage a cup full of this roughage should be sprinkled into the bowl. It is composed of lye pellets, salts, and shards of metal, glass and sawdust. Watch as it falls like glittering pixie dust into the crapper where it will work its fairy magic.

The new "Hotel Buffet Chic" look for your bathroom: a hessian bag, curled back open at the top, sitting beside your throne, a large brushed metal scoop poking out of mascerating granola.

Do be careful to ensure that you put these "shards of metal, glass and sawdust" in the toilet and not the bidet.

Wondering how many flushings of shards of glass, metal, and sawdust PVC schedule 40 piping can withstand before internal failure occurs.

I've wondered the same thing minus the Toilet Fiber, and about physiological internal failure.

I'm sure shards of metal and glass would be extremely beneficial to my septic tank, too. I wonder how many weeks it would take to back up completely and erupt all over my lawn in a giant geyser of shrapnel-laced sewage ?

       Why?

Low flow high efficiency toilets for one thing. This idea is environmentally friendly, although the fibre may need a some reformulating. It can help save water. Little help here from big dumpers.

For extra efficiency, eat the lye pellets, shards of glass, etc so they clean you first. I guarantee, if all members of a household followed this regime, there would be very few blocked toilets.

Supposedly, we should all be using composting toilets, but the biggest obstacle is that people don't want to be arsed to sprinkle some sawdust after every use.

[baconbrain], patient-compliance is a huge industry.
