I thought of this while jotting down my tooth friendly caulk idea, basically a clear or colored resin that could be painted over clean teeth for decorational purposes as well as semi-permanent protection from cavities.
What are dental sealants?

I've been in heaven since they announced coffee has cavity-fighting abilities. |

And on a different front, I recently read where someone is getting ready to start human trials on a bacteria that kills the cavity causing kind. The new bacteria appearently lives in the mouth and digests sugars (like the bad kind), but excretes antibiotics which kill the cavity-causers. |

[phoenix], I heard a report on the radio about that. The expected treatment would be to irrigate the patient's mouth with a solution containing the bacteria and then send the patient home with orders to eat sugar to help establish the new bacteria. Sounds promising but I'll give it a few years before I try it. |
