Exercise whenever you go up your stairs. The staircase is a simple escalator set on free-running bearings, requiring considerable effort to run up it faster than it can move away beneath you. Getting upstairs could take a while, if you merely walk.
Getting downstairs requires you to bound vigorously
down the stairs, as the staircase actively seeks to deposit you back at the top of the staircase.

Wouldn't it be simpler and more effective, exercise-wise, to have to use a climbing rope to get upstairs? There's just so much that could go wrong mechanically with the Treadmill Staircase, and I would think it'd be quite noisy, too. |

Needs to be powered, rather than free
moving, so that it can travel the opposite
way when it senses that you are trying to
descend, but + for general notion of a
staircase that fights back....The Resistair |

Baked, it's called a Stair-Climber, Google it. They are at least 20 years old. |

I've put a link up for you, since you were too lazy, [QED]. |
|

Now, send me some footage of you using one of those to climb from the ground floor to the first floor of a building, smartarse. Baked? You didn't actually bother reading the idea, did you? |

Two other models of staircase: The "Sisyphus": Every time you want to go upstairs you should be compelled to roll a large rock upstairs as well The "Tantalus": You run eagerly upstairs towards a large cake at the top which is whisked out of the way at the last moment. |

Hardly. It helps to be able to read, I must admit. ;^) |
