Tunic Wars

What, no "dress" or "tunic" or "one-piece" subcategories of "fashion"???

The beginning of the Tunic Wars can be traced to a manufacturer of cardigans who got the idea of lengthening them to reach the knees (roughly). The competitor, who specialized in producing rompers, strongly objected to this invasion of their market, and created the advertising slogan of "Cardigan delenda est!"

       This is a cardiganderism, surely?

       So, apart from the pun...

[Vernon] is definitely Barca-ing up the wrong tree with this one ...

Yes, he'll be sari he posted this one.

I might have been willing to put it in another category, since it is about a TV show as much as it is about fashion, but really wanted to point out the lack of a suitable subcategory here. A note to that effect would have not been relevant, if the Idea had been in another category.

I'm following the thread of this idea, but the overall fabric is difficult for me to grasp.

       It's wearing on me.

It's a lightly veiled idea, me thinks.

Yeah, we could zip this one up easily. 'Twill not go on for extra long.

Enough with the puns. They're pants.
MaxwellBuchanan, Feb 05 2016

Ignore them, they're only doing it to needle you. Weave already thought of a witty reply.

Can't quite cotton on to your idea.

It's another one of [Vernon]'s boy shorts.

Seams like a pullover to me.
