Umbrellas are used to keep water off their users. Unfortunately, this means they may also drip water everywhere. I have noticed this is a problem, especially on the polished stone floors of many foyers.

This creates a substantial slip hazard for pedestrians and building owners alike.

The Umbrella Safety Device simply wraps a furled umbrella in a waterproof sheath, so it won't drip everywhere. Can also be programmed to impale a nerf ball on the spike.

       I must have a half dozen golf umbrellas and I don't recall ever getting a cover with any of them.   

       I see these positioned just inside the doors of office towers, chuches, shopping centres and the like.

       There are often umbrella stands just inside the doors of churches in the UK - or at least there was when I used to frequent churches on a regular basis. As [squeak] says covers are also a common thing over here, especially for folding umbrellas.

       That's really handy in a building where 3,000 people work. You leave an umbrella in the foyer on a rainy day and that's the last you'll ever see of it.   

       How the hell do you stay dry under a folding umbrella? Those things are a practical joke. Make that an impractical joke.
