Someone with more skill than me at this sort of thing needs to develop a little program to collect useless data on the halfbakery, and produce fundamentally useless statistics from it.
It can tell you truly arcane bullshit like the total number of ideas here, how many exclamation points appear on
the whole website, how many times PeterSealy has typed the word Baked...
This will satisfy the "I wanna know how many times the word 'gun' appears in DNA Gun Control" crowd. It will also free up jutta to do something other than tell these people to piss off and clutter up someone else's website with their crap.
This would obviate the need for the plethora of, "I want statistics on this inconsequential aspect of my life on 1/2B" ideas we've seen recently.

I just altered Troll Police to this idea. I couldn't see the point in creating a new one. |
|

I want something that will notify me (and others) when they are specifically asked a question on HB. |
|
| |
/You messing with our heads, UB? / for instance would generate an email to unabubba to let him know he's got some 'splainin' to do . . . |
|
| |
I did the 'splainin' and you're not satisfied? This thing had 4 bones the day it was spawned. |
|
| |
I'd be interested, in fact I was just thinking about this the other day. An anonymous questionnaire to find out the demographics of the other halfbakers might be good. |
|
| |
Being a fan of pointless trivia, I've given you a croissant, although I'm worried that it might encourage people to behave in antisocial ways, in the same way that a "worst halfbakery idea" chart might.
"Hey, I've written the word 'baked' more often than anyone else in the bakery!"
"Yeah? Well I've got the longest average length annotation, so there! Oh and just to make sure, I'll insert Hamlet's soliloquy here...."
[stupop], on a digressing note, I often wonder what the shorthand data people put in their profiles means: HBGC e-p-s++g-B(bp)A++r++ ? |

[Lemon] I forgot about that. I also can't remember what any of the letters mean, so perhaps I wouldn't be in the slightest bit interested after all. |

See the HalfBakery Geek Code. Linked. |

Ah. Thanks, [hippo]. Think I'll give that one a miss. |
|
| |
Lemon, it's just for confusion value. |

Baked--as in, this whole site is useless information. |
|
| |
Actually, zaphod, this site makes me think about lots of things. There are, mixed in with the chaff, very clever insights from very clever people about an enormous range of topics. Often, the notions and comments here provide a nice cross-pollination for the idea-breeding process outside of the halfB. Far from useless, it is the catalyst quality provided here that keeps me coming back. I admit, it is one-sided, I have little to sow and much to reap. |
|
| |
glad you are here, bristolz, wish I had said that! |
|
| |
Aww, shucks. . . .Thanks, you guys! |
|
| |
Well, we don't need this critter anymore. Jutta's gone and taken away the reason. |
|
| |
I wouldn't call it 'useless': This would have been bloody useful back when I was doing my Halfbakery Research Project. For example, it might have been nice to know about the gender and nationality ratios (could be gleaned from user profiles. Not too accurate, but better than nothing.) |
|
| |
"Gun" dosen't appear in DNA. There is no 'n' base. |
