Shoes, circular and ceach containing a bellows movement, with narrow intake apertures under the soles in a grille formation. Your weight is suspended above the floor on a grid of narrow, pointed pins so air and dust can be drawn in through the apertures.

As you settle your weight onto one foot a set of gears begins to spin a series of small, vaned turbines very quickly, propelling air upward through the boots and out the top of them, passing it through a filter to trap dust and debris.

Lift off your weight and the sole under your foot springs back to full travel, while your other foot takes your weight and begins to suck dirt off the floor.

A little exercise, a clean floor and a cool draught up the leg of your pants.

Similar looking to this, but with intakes underneath and exhaust on top. http://www.american...ma/advert/da109.htm

How do you clean behind the fridge? [+]

Did i fail to mention the diverter switch and concertina hose? Oops, my bad!

There's a built-in diverter switch in each boot, that allows airflow to be directed to a suction hose. Vacuboots also come with a variety of brushes and crevice tools that can be mounted on top of the boots for storage.

A spin off potential could be developed with the profits from this nifty indoor cleaning shoe. I imagine a similar contraption for those folks who for whatever reason walk about in the middle of rivers lookin for fish. Add a hydro powered vortex to separate the heavier items, and walla, the stream walkers can pan for gold as they look for fish. That way if the fish are not enough to eat. The gold can help finance fishing fish at the local market.

Nice idea [S_M], but for the fact gold is so heavy it works down into the crevices and cracks and is difficult to extract from a streambed without a lot of digging and destruction or powerful machinery.

I grew up on the Cape River goldfield in North Queensland, Australia. Fossicking was a favourite pastime, though my grandfather was an expert. He used to collect about 8oz of gold a month, from his secret spots. He used to pull in about 3-4 times the value of his old age pension every month, with one day's work each week.

A small rechargeable vacuum cleaner was used to strip away the dirt in the cracks and leave the gold behind. Gold was too heavy to pick up with the suction power it had.
