So it's not a Black Keys tribute band? http://www.theblackkeys.com/

And yes, I'm going for the shortest word count idea. Might as well since this is so easily explained.

       ok, explain...

Did you type three . or one . ? Let me press my white key.
bigsleep, May 25 2009

The functionality could be had by linking some unwanted key (CapsLock?) to a HotKeys script briefly calling a pure-white screen saver.

[brevity] [+] Although it doesn't have to be dust or accent. There are cases, with LCD displays, of dead cells. It which case you would need to wipe-out. Wasn't there a similar idea on the site already?

I had a dead phosphor cell on my old CRT. That took a bit of getting used to but it didn't move around. At least those guard wires are gone. Damn those good for nothing guard wires ! I now have a brand new LCD monitor. Damn those viewing angle colour fades !

       [-] I don't understand. :(
Jscotty, May 25 2009

[Jscotty] a button that makes the entire display white, allowing you to see if that accent on the text was an accent, or maybe just dirt (or a dead cell/cells) on the screen.

Invented by the French, originally, as a comeback for the introduction of the accent, because they never thought they would ever use computers. Probably would have been invented by one of the nordic countries, but they are far to comfortable with the fact that we already use linux and nokias.

       Oh, I see. [+]

       What Jscotty said.

Wouldn't scrolling the text up/down serve this purpose?
Jscotty, May 25 2009

I thought this was going to be the key that White Van Man uses to start his engine.

// since this is so easily explained. //

Not as easily as you thought, perhaps. What Jscotty said the first and third times.

My TFT monitor is covered in cat hair.

       Useful.
