The word "How?" springs to mind at this point.

"Tile Toss" rule for Scrabble

Can't make a word? Try for a basket!

Before playing this variation of Scrabble, place a few boxes or containers on the other side of the room. Leave some space between them. Label them "Single Letter Score", "Double Letter Score", and "Triple Letter Score".

During the game play, any time you can't (or don't want to) make a word, you can choose to fling some or all of your tiles across the room instead. This is a great way to relieve the frustration! You must throw whichever ones you choose all together. Any tile that goes into a container scores its value times whatever multiplier. BE WARNED: Any tile that lands on the floor, however, SUBTRACTS its value from your score.

Either way, whatever tiles you've thrown are out of play for the rest of the game. This is a lot better than trading them in and picking the darned things up again later. Also, not having to play the tough letters on the board means the board doesn't get all closed off and unusable later in the game because of all those blocky letters stuck on there.

If all seven of your tiles go into the boxes, this is considered just as good as a 7-letter bingo, and you score the 50-point bonus in addition to the letter scores.

       Do you fling them individually, or do they have to go as one handful?

       All at once.

       What do you get if you throw the whole lot into the fire?

       *sizzling*, and that's a lot of points, right? (the z's are good, no?)

       So, a game of vocabulary and intellect which is decided in part by motor skills? Can we have a complementary rule in football, in which the players are given a set of scrabble tiles and...

       I consonantly miss all the containers.

       We should play sometime [UB]. I am much better at it than my ideas suggest :)

       I'm not convinced, [phundug]. This is too close to letting someone off the hook. Instead, bottle up the frustration and then at the end of the game throw the entire board, letters and all, up into the air in a fit of rage. Makes for great family fun!

       I'll play ya [UB]. I'm not the best, but I like a challenge.

       {You don't need this for Monopoly, [cloud9], all you need is the orange set (just before free parking) and a bit of luck.}

       What browns? I thought only Scumopoly had those :)
