Because we have no simple quick way to check the impact of ideas.

We add a short word "Baked" to a link which leads to a predecessor of the idea. That's what the hyenas are interested in, but there is the other side of the coin: if the idea looks truly original, we are interested in its outcomes, and what influence did it after all make. We want a different word next to such link.

The word "impact" however is too strong to denote any outcome of an idea, such as a follow-up conversation in another place of the internet. [marked-for-outcome], simply [an-outcome], or simply [outcome] seem to be sufficient a tag to enable us to distinguish quickly, what were the outcomes of the ideas, because searching for a string "outcome]" does not return any results.

Now someone needs going through all of the ideas and checking this out... It's a lot of work, but I'm sure it would elucidate the overall impact of Halfbakery on the modern world, and that could be an encouraging reward for our ideation.

What's more -- perhaps each user is best familiar with the results of their ideas.

This sounds like a good idea - let everyone know how it turns out, won't you ?

       Not really meta level halfbakery.

Forgot to mention that this concerns links.

Sometimes I see things on TV that have been previously halfbaked here. Then also, sometimes I see / hear something that I think someone already baked on a TV sit-com or something, that someone has posted as an original idea here. (GIGO)

How kind of you to volunteer!

Yes, yes; please elucidate. And remind people who bake my grand schemes that I am due a Tshirt.

       Royalties all 'round!

Laughing Hyenas and Vulture Capitalists. Sounds like David Attenborough meets Dragons den.

"Survival of the Fittest" ... "Evolution by Natural Selection" ... Charles Darwin would be throwing his top hat in the air, yodelling.

'Vulture Capitalists' - is that a reference to Hilary Davey's hunching shoulder pads? (Devey, afraid not).

I had an idea that was deleted because of "cruelty to animals", but then I saw that exact idea come up on a US late night show many years later. It was an exact copy of the drawing that I made.

It was a dog carrier with a muzzle at one end and a screw at the other end, that screwed into the rear end of the dog.

I think it might have got half a laugh, and was quickly dropped behind the table.

       Just so you know...

       Carry on.

[Ling], you made me laugh. Genius. If the idea was found to be baked independently of HB, we can't say it's an outcome of the idea posted: we still say it's baked, albeit later. So, but if you say "It was an exact copy of the drawing that I made," then it has to qualify.

I think it's a good'un, this. And people do like to point out their idea has become a lucrative reality, though depressingly lucrative for someone else.
