i once wanted a "bag o' rocks" to carry around the city and throw at those who deserved a rock in the rear windshield (mostly those who HONK!). then i dawned on me - ONE rock, that returned to me. less rocks to carry...

       stew good point. thanks.

What makes you think a rock through the windshield is going to calm these people down?

centauri, Feb 20 2001

it could be a great segway for me to yell profanities (including a "don't honk") or the rock could deliver notes?!

reginagirl, Feb 20 2001

Why shouldn't they honk, by the way?

centauri, Feb 20 2001

c-on one lane neighborhood streets in the city, a u-haul delivering goods or a person parking is not reason enough for ppl to LAY on their horns. i nice tap to let soemone know u are backing out would not warrant a rock.

reginagirl, Feb 21 2001

I "c". It's not honking, per se, just overhonking. Yes. Bad. About as bad as hitting someone with a rock, but not as painful and you can hit more than one at once.

Pretending this is a serious idea for a moment: a boomerang made of stone isn't going to curve as sharply as one made of less dense material. You'd have to launch it with an awful lot of force to make it come back. Besides, if it hits something, it won't come back. It'll strike with more force than an ordinary rock (the original purpose of the boomerang), but that's overkill for glass.

[admin: this idea was inaccessible for a few days due to a bug. That bug is now fixed. Thanks to everyone who sent me email about it.]

I don't suppose you could make it inaccessible again, could you?
