cracked plate
pet annoyance warning by experienced halfbakers

As a newbie and a memory like the money in a gamblers wallet , I need all the pointers I can .

I suggest a text filter on the submissions that generates a warning and explains the recurring problem . The submitter could then edit or delete at will . Each old hand halfbaker would get one search text string and one corresponding why warning of their deepest annoyance . Examples could include specific logic flaws , unity machines , piddling energy generators or even a spelling or grammar mistake . The cleverness would be in the text used for matching . Your login would be attached so the newbie would know to whom the warning was generated from .

A newbie contest would be how many warnings a single post could generate .

Come to think of it, why *do* you put those annoying spaces in front of your punctuation?

jutta, Nov 04 2007

I think it might be catching , even if not so fetching .

good catch [jutta], I was going to complain that ideas that try to add functions to the halfbakery,or give veteran bakers jobs to do, are just annoying.

uh oh, is this a call for a list?

If old-fashioned hazing was good enough for us...

       If you're a newbie [wjt] , I'm not even born yet .

theleopard, Nov 05 2007

Good call [theleopard]. I re-read that a bunch of times wondering if [wjt] just meant *if* one was a newbie.
My pets do annoy me sometimes.

What's an old hand halfbaker? And why are their annoyances more important than anyone elses?

Perhaps a general piece of advice to any newbies is to resist the urge to post anything in the halfbakery:criticism category.

[ jutta ] spaces are to help my parser .

[ theleopard ] I consider myself a newbie because I haven't yet hit that rich flood of croissants that will send me to my demise .

[ hidden truths ] An old hand is one that has received a 100 plus pastries .
