cyborg reality
its already been done in imagination, its time for reality | |
This is originally a annotation to the Human Memory Chips: Actually, this IS possible, if not very near to it. The technology already exists to input data to the brain from a computer chip, they do that with the digital eye devices for rich, blind people. I'm sure there are a few unused motor controls
in our nervous system that we could learn to use for controlling of computer implants such as this. of course, the little RAM card we insert (which should be on a slot, not edible!) could just be one part of a device, such as a.. PDA? or a remote for you TV! Just imagine the possiblities when your obscurly-learned, but extremely wonderful internal-brain-"keyboard" is finally implanted and you never need to find that remote again! Even could make it a general purpose, programmable computer as the implant, with a few drive bays in your arm of course. It could even give you control of nanobots inside your body, allowing you complete observation and control over your internal functions to fine-tune yourself as needed. This would bring about a new species, as the nanobots could reproduce the implants in the newborns they reside in after birth, even networking us all inter-mentally. Sure, it does sound like the Borg, but isnt that about the coolest way Humanity (.. err.. uh.. technology?) could go? We could call it HumanTech: The merger of Humanity and Technology, an inevitable future I believe strongly in, scary or not. Everything has good and bad sides, but whats your opinion on the matter? By the way, people please feel free to email me about this as I dont get much time to check on HB, but I really want to discuss this.
Human Memory Chips

Passive Neural Interfacing

im not talking body part
replacements, im talking
additions to the human body.
the merger of humanity and
technology. |

This is just another well-worn
sci-fi idea with no new insights.
Yeah, neural implants, nanotech,
cyborg humanity, blah blah blah
blah blah. |

I have already sent you neural mail on this and you just ignored it. Go to the shop and get your head fixed. |

Well I think in 10 years in are way of Entertainment and 3d arts maybe in the ""Arts of the Matrix"" :0)
But think hard about thing one
~~~~~Add all these~~ |
And there still theres more to come in the future!
Maybe will come to a point where we came have a IO-Stream to the Brain "Input & Output" Copying Data
Remind you of a movie "Johnny Mnemonic" ?? A good movie. But think about it.... Picture this
A Student - Walks in to let's said a math class room no, wait.. a Computer room plugs in a cord in to his head then in to the computer Clicks "Math" 5 Min's later He or She knows all the Math they want!!! Again Johnny Mnemonic.. But all of this would be copyed off someone's are alot of people's Brain. Because Computer and Brain are Different Of course in 10 years time you can pull up your Window Menu up in your brain but the OS Still isn't running off your Brain but on a Small Computer that use's your eye to see stuff or your ear to hear stuff. The first step in brain and computer mixing is most likely going to be MB to "Brain Lines" of course it would be so inefficient in time that it woulded be worth it.. !!You remember a Kb file first then come back and prove me wrong. Of course inless the brain adapts to the intense work load of a poorly language. |
But Just remember
"It's quite fun to do the impossible" - Walt Disney |
|
| |
Well, with new data storage techniques its possible to fit gigabytes of information onto a tiny area. So the chances of brain implantation coming into mainstream society are increasing. |
|
| |
Seems to be lots of disagreement about what is significant in all this. Well, there is what is possible (the dream part), what it implies (the sifi part), but then there is actual implementation (our real life part). |
|
| |
I mean, what is the usefulness of a real appication. I think that should be explored, SO WHAT if it is already known to be possible. I don't see much investigation of the effect of a real implementation. |
So, like they get this brain-com-link to a belt mounted hard disk, and your brain learns to stuff long term memeory into it, with out thinking. If your HD crashes, will you remember where to go to fix it? :-) |
|
| |
If you get 4 extra-robo arms, linked in, will you be able to talk and chew gum at the same time? |
|
| |
I'll bet someone will learn how to spam your link! |
Is this a proposal that we all use the technology in existance? then it's a "let's all." |
|
| |
Is this a proposal for a new way to accomplish implantation and use? then what is your specific proposal? |
