daseva's Heaven

I finally got to see.

Hello everyone. Today has been momentous for me. Last night, I was to sit atop a mountain for several hours in hopes of cleansing my mind and soul of all rational thought. The result was a vision of heaven.

Heaven, as I was able to experience it, was just like the real world. With one stark difference: Everything has angel wings. Everything. The salt shakers, cars, trees, people, computers, clouds... It's truly incredible. If you were to put molecules of water underneath an atomic force microscope, you would see little wings on each of the hydrogens, and slightly larger wings on the oxygen. Also, the entire molecule has it's own set of wings, but you will only be able to see the whole's wings or the part's wings at any given time. The only things that don't have wings are the angel wings themselves. There are birds in heaven, and they have two sets of wings. Their Heaven Wings nestle neatly underneath their real ones, but when in use, the bird's heaven wings dwarf the others, and the bird takes on angelic proportions. The bird uses one set or the other depending on it's travels. The wings are pure white and feathered and you can pull the feathers out and they taste like honey, and they never run out. Most of the time, the wings are tucked firmly against the owner, completely out of sight, but upon arousal, and anything can be aroused in heaven, they outstretch and carry their rightful owner to soaring heights and unimaginable lands of bliss and freedom.

The wings are an infinite source of energy and life so there is no famine or death in heaven.

So, the idea is to paint this truly unique landscape in full realism. Oil on canvas. That is all.

Oi! That's what the HB is for.
None of this mountain-squatting malarkey.

       ...sounds like a beautiful *trip*!

       *trip*, indeed...

Would the wings have wings? If so, would there be room for anything else?
bungston, May 21 2008

       luggage.

Come in, sit down. No, I meant on this couch...
MaxwellBuchanan, May 21 2008

Such fine details of wing's wings and such probably will not be implemented into the piece, [bungston]. Though maybe they should..

But, if you are curious, the presence of wings is somewhat determined by observation. So that an astronaut in orbit will be able to see the Earth's wings, but those on earth cannot, for they see the wings of its objects.
daseva, May 21 2008

Hmmmm, so angels spread their wings when they are aroused, huh? Motor boat, pbbbbbb, motor boat on the flying magic wings, pbbbbbb!
quantum_flux, May 21 2008

Well, they started putting wings on hospitals about 100 years ago, cars about 50 years ago and period pads about 10 years ago, so it's about time they did it with else.

       Can of Red Bull anyone?

//anything can be aroused in heaven//

Hmm. I'll be keeping well clear of the cucumbers up there, then.

Well, not that I'll be going there anyway, should there be a there to go to. But, if there was and if I was.

Lucy. There are really diamonds in the sky.

I've got some oils, but I can't paint. Is it OK if I just wing it?
lurch, May 21 2008

I think it's lovely, [daseva], and I would enjoy a picture of the painting when complete.

Side-note> Does anyone remember the flying toilets screen saver?
MikeD, May 22 2008

Wouldn't you need some means to transfer the wings from smaller objects to larger ones as the viewer stood back from the image? Otherwise it might look silly.
pertinax, May 22 2008

I congratulate you on your experience. However, when it comes to enlightenment and deep spiritual stuff, I rely on rational thought.

If you are willing to sit atop a mountain and wait for it, you might enjoy emersing yourself in the purest rational thought imaginable to you. Just sit and think as logical as you can. It works wonders for me.

Come to think of it, a mountain top would be an ideal setting.
zeno, May 24 2008

Oh, [daseva], we might have some similar concepts at least. See link. It must be nice to be clothed with angelic wings!

Hell, as I was able to experience it, was just like the real world. With one stark difference: Everything has rotary engines of questionable design. Everything.

[daseva]You deleted my question(s) - so here they are again: If everything gets wings, what wings does a B52 get? - are we talking: leathery bat wings, feathery bird wings, dusty moth wings, transparent fly's wings, or multi-coloured butterfly wings? - and who decides on the wing allocation?
xenzag, May 25 2008

B52s wings need to flex 27 feet upward upon takeoff, but in this translucent world I would have to go with another barely flightworthy thing mentioned in the song of the same name, from the Cosmic Thing release of 1989. Junebug. Junebug wings.
plynthe, May 25 2008

Not quite sure what you are getting at in the idea. I do find it pleasing that you can achieve such a state. Wings on things and things on wings is, from my point of view, quite an accurate description of the universe.

It is possible, and an area of intense study, that we move in three dimensions carrying another 7(or 8) with us as we go. From the large to the small, each with this set of "wings".

Bravo, with one proviso: Let the depiction correctly reflect scientific evidence.
4whom, May 25 2008

[xenzag], I'm almost positive I didn't erase any annos. Perhaps this all happened in another universe?

Anyways, All angel wings are the same: //The wings are pure white and feathered and you can pull the feathers out and they taste like honey// Though they can change size.

Nobody decides on who or what gets what wings. It just is.
daseva, May 25 2008

//Let the depiction correctly reflect scientific evidence.//

7 or 8 dimensions? Are we talking evidence or theory, here?
MikeD, May 25 2008

       <bad minie-pad ad here in Canuckleville>

"It's got wings. You haven't seen it? Aw you gotta see it."

       <honest...I couldn't make this stuff up>

Man, those aren't wings, those are magnetic fields.
mylodon, May 26 2008

Arrgh, now I want to go to heaven. Or at least find what's in your water supply. Shame neither will happen.

(+) Sounds like a great piece of art. How does water work though?

[daseva], I really like to fantasize your wonderful statement regarding the state of everything in your heaven: // and anything can be aroused in heaven //

In this sick and imperfect world we live today we can perform such virtues as perseverance, long-suffering, endurance, temperance, true love and devotion, with all of them involving pain and suffering although the higher spirit within takes them all in a sort of spiritual pleasures and delight, and a sense of a higher purpose. And yet, if we view this world in a different way, we would somehow appreciate the great challenges that may somewhat invigorate our spirit when properly attuned: We can be in a state of euphoria after hurdling every ever-increasing challenges in this life. And, whenever disappointed, there are hope, courage, faith, and sheer, dumb or outlandish expectations for betterment to cling unto—and there’s more, like the more substantive miracles and sheer luck and the rest of the unexpected we somehow anticipated or felt. Moreover, whenever extremely hurt and seriously ill, there are such lovely dreams as blessed afterlife, higher dimensions, perfect world, heaven, and everlasting kingdom to rest anyone’s faith upon. There are even others who lost consciousness of bodily pains but instead talk pleasantly with wonderment as they fixed their attention to their glimpse of their own heaven just before they succumb to death.

Yet somehow, the majority simply ignores the benefit of positive outlook. There are even a few who suffer from too much desperate rationalization that everything is hopeless, with the majority of them abhor the belief that there are resurrection and reward of blissful everlasting/eternal life. But, notably, there are few good men who sacrifice their own lives, even unto death, just to restore or defend the well-being of others.

Yet, until now that I have read your statement above, I somehow forgot sometimes what would heaven be if there are no more hurt and painful experience to challenge oneself. Now, my belief in a creative euphoria (-extreme happiness or feeling of great excitement while taking the role of a creator of things that are good) is evermore reinforced with your concept of higher level of arousal in heaven: // they outstretch and carry their rightful owner to soaring heights and unimaginable lands of bliss and freedom. //

       We hope so…
