Elegant and yet dangererous, manly and feminine all at once, nothing would be more beautiful a fashion statement than a flaming umbrella drink using flame retardant drink parasols.

The best of both worlds!

(?) Umbrellas http://www.altnews....yworks/umbrella.htm
Lots of fun umbrella idea. Completely irrelevant, but cool. [pottedstu, Jun 17 2002, last modified Oct 05 2004]

Flame-retardant *and* flaming. How?

One slightly effete, yet manly burnt croissant comin' right up

thumbwax, Jun 17 2002

Sambuca in a brandy snifter: set it alight, then cup your hand over the top of the glass. The fire goes out, but creates a vacuum, sticking the glass to your hand. I had a friend who loved to do this. I never understood why.

starchaser: why in a food category? Shirley the idea is for an accessory for the drink, not a drink itself?

yamahito, Jun 17 2002

       Surely "product:drink accessory"?

pottedstu, Jun 17 2002

croissant for pottedstu's link....I *need* the Mary Poppins Umbrella....it's sounds like a blissmiss idea!

runforrestrun, Jun 17 2002

i suppose its not really the best of both worlds, i suppose im just a sucker for silly catch phrases.

bobofthefuture, Jun 17 2002

It was 4am when I recategorized this, and despite having searched for it, I managed to utterly miss 'product: drink accessory'.

       Ooohh! Looky! "Survivor" drinks!

UnaBubba, Jun 19 2002

Yum, mudslide ... <slurp> ... Ow! Ow ow ow!

Hey, anything that will get some big strong firemen running to my rescue gets a croissant from me ...

flaming umbrella over a glass of highly flamable alchohol.........

consumer, Jun 19 2002

Consumer, note the mention of 'flame retardant drink parasols'.

Blissmiss, no; I now work night shift, and that day had someone trimming trees with a rusty chainsaw outside my window all 'night' while I was trying to sleep.

StarChaser, Jun 19 2002

It IS the best of both worlds bobo.t.f. This is something I always thought could work if umbrella drinks weren't so hard to get as it is, due to their wholy unfair reputation as pathetic sissy drinks.

First One To The Bottom Of Your Flaming Umbrella Drink Contest anyone?
