Restraunt critics dont really need any solid qualifications to get thier jobs, and yet they arguably hold the power to make or break a restraunt. Perhaps after a restraunt critic has ate in a place he is going to review he should be obligated to make himself known to the restraunt owner and allow him to submit a rebutle, or even a critique of the reviewers behavior, they could apoligize and claim it was an off day, or mention why the food critic may be biased for example; they were too drunk to even taste anything by the time orderves came, or that they ate the meal without chewing.

I've seen this done in newspapers before, usually as a sidebar to the main review, almost always headed "Bite back".

I used to write a food column for my college magazine, and more than once the recipient of a bad review called to politely ask if he could take my balls on a long drive. Tip - never get on the wrong side of an Italian.
