These are four lenses, on finger rings -- one on each index finger, one on each pinky “little finger”. The lenses are hinged to the rings, and flipped to the back of the hand when not in use. The form is similar to opera glasses, except that the only support is one’s own hands.

I was thinking that binoculars require other optical elements besides just the four lenses, but maybe not. |

Galileo Galilei used two different lenses to prevent the object from being inverted, a convex objective and concave eyepiece. With this simple arrangement, he made a telescope with 30X magnification! I'd expect the knucklescope to be somewhat less powerful. |
