radio ad-squelch

programmable audio recognition device to silence ads

My local radio stations are a mix of some really good music, some overplayed hits, and some really annoying ads.

The idea is an electronic device that listens to the radio and compares the content to a programmable set of clips, and squelches them. So instead of that awful advert, you get silence. In similar fashion to old car radios with several station presets, the device would have many "record" buttons. Half-dozen or so would probably do for a typical radio station.
