It's just this simple: you feed all your papers into a tray. The tray feeds into a scanner. The scanner checks for sensitive information (such as address, credit card info, social security number, etc.) and seperates the papers into two groups. The non-sensitive papers are ejected into a bin to be
recycled. The sensitive ones continue on to the shredder. How about it?

Why the distinction between shredding and recycling? Can't you recycle shredded paper? |

If you shred paper that didn't have any confidentiality
attached to it, it gains energy in doing so, and stops
being green. |

Easier to have it bypass all of the green paper, and shred the rest. Colour recognition technology is baked. |
