A fruit machine for the discerning player.

Spin the reels and hope for a viable thermodynamic process, wins according to efficiency. Symbols include pumps, heat exchangers and state changes etc.

Holds could be tricky, but don't forget the ">1" symbol which acts as a wildcard.

In non-vegas theme variety, random challenges are issued to unlock "Free-the-heat mega-payout". Collect the symbols to build a fridge, car engine or nuclear power station.

yep, that covers quite a few posts.

$1,000,000 is a bit low, especially if the machine holds the magical schematic in it's little window.

Shouldn't it pay out in energy ?

I thought this was going to have a wrestling theme, wasn't there a Masked Captain Chaos in Cannonball Run?

       Yes, i was expecting wrestling.

What do you think of changing it to a pinball machine?

//What do you think of changing it to a pinball machine?// Meh, a fruit machine is a fruit machine, I don't think anyone really cares that much about what symbols are on the reels - it's all about the payouts. But a pinball machine? Again, I don't think it would really matter whether you are playing a <<<Back To the Future, Spartacus, Dinosaur, or Thermodynamic themed fruit machine - they'd all still have flappers, boinging things, multi-ball , freeplays and bonus points, just have differently painted cabinets and play different sound effects. Not that much to get excited about.

Even more bizarre and pointless, a Schrodinger gaming machine where you can't see what's going on until it's all over.

I keep seeing Einstein pulling a lever and a whistling cuckoo on a spring emerges from [bigsleep]'s mouth. Very disturbing.

I could see this working as an open-ended puzzle game with physical cards, or on the PC. One is dealt random machine cards and must construct something useful with the hand you're dealt. You could add in trading rounds, draw new cards, etc.

Or it could be a Tetris derivative. Another version, something like the old Train/Pipe video game (anyone remember this one?) where you had to lay randomly-dealt square tiles of track/pipe into a grid before the train/water smashed into a wall.

I was wondering about the greatest limit of a vertical returning loop of water with a given gravity drop of volume.
