Ever since story telling began, virtual locations have been highly popular destinations for 'tourists'. It would be interesting to see how real world tourist locations fare in comparison to virtual ones. How would Half-Life's Black Mesa compare against Disney Land Florida in terms of visitor numbers or visitor hours? What about Tolkien's universe (counting unique readers and film watchers) against the Great Wall of China? What about comparing virtual versions of real world locations against their real counterparts? An interesting statistical exercise. Has it been done before?
