Air Inflated Shoe Laces   (+10, -1)  [vote for, against]
Air trapped in the ends of sholaces keeps them tied.

These shoelaces are airtight tubes of elastic material sealed at the ends. By tying shoes with them and forcing the air out into the ends that are being tied together, the knot is held closed by the air pressure stored during tightening.

Okay.

But I was all excited to think that you'd found a way to tighten shoes up to your chosen level just by walking in them.

+

But I thought that you'd found a way to avoid having to make the knot.

It would look like a balloon poodle is trying to dry-hump your leg. I'm not sure whether that's a positive or a negative, though.

You may be onto something there. Rigorously trained miniature humping dogs could replace shoes entirely.

If you could get them to hump in sequence, they might even replace walking; like the Segway was supposed to do, only cheaper and powered by kibble.

You could actually have different balloon animals on your shoes, depending on your whim and the fashion of the day.
