It is an article of faith that children, young children, learn other languages more easily than do adults.

It is readily observed that young children are far more fond of novelty soups and pastas than their more conservative elders.

Alphabet Soup du Jour is an educational product, sold at tuckshops and canteens. It includes characters with umlauts, the occasional çedilla, gravés, etc..

Later classes will incorporate other, radically different alphabets, such as Hebrew and Cyrillic.

Soups are flavoured in keeping with the traditional cuisine of the country whose language is represented.

Would work better if young children were as good at learning alphabets and spelling as they are at learning languages, which they're not. But no harm in broadening cultural influences at any age.
