It's raining here, today. As I look down from the 20th floor I see a lot of round, black umbrellas with the occasional coloured or patterned one interspersed among them.
Here at UB Looking At The Future we have been working feverishly and are about to release a range of architecturally correct precipitation repulsion devices. Initial market research shows they'll be popular with architects but a good marketing campaign should see the general public embrace them fairly quickly.
Designs include: Cathedrals, complete with gargoyles and "stained glass" windows. Ante-bellum mansions, and gazebos for the littlies. Tudor Style homes, with "slate" roofing and small, high windows. Sydney Opera House, with acoustically correct lining Pagodas The Pentagon Sports Stadia Buckinghuge Palace The Pyramids (South American and Egyptian) Taj Mahal... We've been having fun here, folks.
People will look forward to rainy days, just to see the sights they can't get to in person.-- UnaBubba, Oct 19 2005 <takes bait> You do know the Pentagon has a big hole in the middle? </tb>-- Shz, Oct 20 2005 And in one side. Yes. So do most sports stadia. I didn't think it would be the first anno~, I must admit.-- UnaBubba, Oct 20 2005 I just found this and think it's really enchanting! I had an idea about a 'garden arbor-umbrella' but you've already improved it.-- xandram, Dec 21 2005 halfbakery
