I'll buy a Lennox Lewis win at $1.22

A betting shop that allows you to buy and sell bets. The bets are traded on a market and you can either go long (getting dividends for wins) or short, selling a high profile player before a major championship that you don't think they can win. It's a little like betting but with longer term effects.

Interesting idea, but...

The usual reason for setting up Futures exchanges like this is to allow people to participate in markets where either they can't afford the underlying or they can't easily find willing counterparties. Given that betting is widely available in very small denominations, I don't think these market conditions apply.

...hence there's no point.

I want fifty shares of 'J-Lo and Ben Affleck will kill each other in a bloody murder-suicide', please.

As a side bet, I'll take Jennifer Lopez over John Lovitz in the ID of J'Lo at said bloody scene.

So would it be like long term spread betting?. I thought the stock market was betting.

Isn't this widely done wherever you have two traders to rub together.

Sometimes, Lennox Lewis is more liquid than many stocks I'd care to name.
