Bluetoothbrush (for pirates)   (+3, -5)  [vote for, against]

A toothbrush that has instrumentation that allows it to transfer ongoing usage metrics to a nearby computing device that can interpret this data usefully. Working in both directions, the bluetoothbrush could incorporate haptics to communicate with you in real time.

And the companion product is an electric shaver called Bluebeard ?

Straining mighty hard to justify that pun, methinks.

My son has an led toothbrush, when you push a button on the end the whole handle flashes for four minutes (recommended teeth brushing time apparently) so that he gets doesn't skimp on his toothbrushing. I wish I'd thought of it first so that instead of marketing it, making lots of money and helping kids look after their teeth, I could have posted it up here and got some buns.

huh?

Nice. A slight hiccup in the brushing action would serve to indicate that I have new mail. Complete cessation of all brushing activity would indicate, via the power-supply monitoring built into my home automation hub, that the house is experiencing a power cut.

can you translate?

Yes, but not from Tindale.

Some bloke patented a loo that locked you in and left the water on for a few minutes, for the recommended washing hands time, to increase hygiene. Not sure if it's a breach of human rights, or a brilliant plan...

You have mail. And gingivitis.

So, bluetooth cancels greenteeth?
-- UnaBubba, Mar 26 2005

Or [UB], if you had red teeth, and you used the bluetoothbrush, you might get pretty purple teeth!
-- froglet, Mar 27 2005

Or you could use bluetoothbrush to chat with people around the world who are brushing their teeth at the same time as you - helps the 4 minutes go by faster - of course they wouldn't understand a word b/c your mouth is full of toothpaste foam.

You could integrate it with that skin-touch personal data transfer system the Japanese invented...
-- RayfordSteele, Mar 28 2005

And have the toilet communicate with your toothbrush, while you're brushing, I guess?
