Footprint Tire Wraps   (+10)  [vote for, against]
Roller stamps for vehicle tires/tyres to liven up the roadways.

This idea could be implemented with factory manufactured tires (tyres) but my preference would be to create a series of aftermarket tire wraps. This would allow you to change your footprints when you wiforth to do so. The rear wheels on your vehicle would be covered in raised animal footprints of your choice which would be continuously re-inked by a device mounted in the upper wheel well.

The inks would need to be vegetable based colors with a short half life when exposed to UV and general weathering. Ideally only cars of a certain horsepower and above would be allowed to sport predator's tracks with the majority of cars on the road being herbivores or 'prey animals'. Of course the only hard and fast stipulation is that large trucks have dinosaur tracks. The choice of colors would be up to the driver to change as they wish.

Similar idea [AusCan531, Apr 25 2013]

You could do this the sadistic way and have some incredibly rare animal track just to annoy natural science folk.

Example - "Good lord Carruthers, isn't that the track of a dodo I see? Quick, after it."

I can only applaud the way you slipped "wiforth" in there as if it was a word.

^Great, now I have to leave it in there. Olde English isn't it? Sorta like 'henceforth' only completely different.

Is this a tired idea? (+)

I had a variation on this lined up a few weeks ago that I never got 'round to typing up. I'll get there one of these days as it's different enough to warrent a new idea.
