A vertical tumbler, like a big movie film canister, that tumbles your grill grate with small pumice stones. Preferably incorporated into a solar or wind-powered sculpture. It would have an auto shutoff after x number of turns.
Put the grate top in the canister when you're done grilling, and it will be ready to be rinsed and used the next evening.-- nomocrow, Aug 11 2009 Another grate way to clean a great is to let the dogs lick it off when it's cool enough, then run it through the dishwasher. That's how I do most of my pots and pans.-- 21 Quest, Aug 11 2009 [21Q] I am never eating anything you have cooked
Nice idea though, especially with the sculpture aspect-- miasere, Aug 11 2009 Well that's convenient. One less steak I have to grill when I host the next Halfcon. And my steaks are legendary.-- 21 Quest, Aug 11 2009 tumble cleaners are pretty baked, though perhaps not at that size (and I want one for my car).-- FlyingToaster, Aug 11 2009 Barbecue grills see some pretty sanitizing temperatures, so I'll have a {21} steak, medium rare please. Not so sure I'll ask him to do my laundry, though.-- normzone, Aug 11 2009 I find the best way to get grease stains out is to pour a can of Coca Cola in the machine, then wash it again with detergent. Little trick I learned in the Service, works great for hydraulic fluid and engine oil, too.-- 21 Quest, Aug 11 2009 halfbakery
