Gun that shoots paper plates   (+6)  [vote for, against]
Just like a toy disc gun, but bigger.

There exist toy guns that shoot small plastic or foam discs. The way that this is done is very simple: the discs are stacked into a tube, and when the trigger is pulled, they fall down in front of a rubber band and get snapped forward. These toys are fun to play with, but the discs do not carry enough weight to fly very far.

I want a large, shoulder-mounted unit that shoots paper plates. You could just drop stacks of plates into the gun and pull the trigger to have them fly safely out of a slot. The same mechanism from the little toy disc shooters could be used, if it were enlarged with an industrial- strength rubber band. Why would anyone use this? Well, it would be a lot of fun at picnics.

wouldn't work for thin paper plates, only the "chinette" ones... and you'd have to spin the plate **really** fast to get more than a couple feet. [ ]

could the plates have a target center printed on them?
I searched and found one. [see link]

Reminds me of the old cartoons whereas the server just shuffled out plates in the air, and they landed properly on the table in front of the diner.

Great idea. I love it.
