Happy TV for Nursing Homes   (+1)  [vote for, against]
Add a channel to nursing home tvs with nothing but good stuff

This is half baked, right? Well a guy in a newsgroup says all we need is modulator and a headend passive combiner. I looked it up and he seems to be right. Open to suggestions on programming and other places where "Happy TV" would work.

I'm not sure I understand what you are suggesting. Is this an idea to take many channels, and filter them down into one 'good' channel? Or is this an idea to tap into cable feed, adding your own channel downstream of your point of access?

We had this during one of my psych hospital stays, only it was nurse controlled. We weren't allowe dto watch anything harsher than a G rating. No blood, no explosions, no screaming, no guns, no drugs, no news, no soap operas. Basically we could watch only disney animated movies. I hate hopitals.

Old people don't watch television - they fall asleep in front of it.

Damn.

This is to add a television channel, not censor. I, myself would but about three channels: "The planets funniest animals" from Animal Planet Channel, an appropriate movie channel, a channel where the people get to vote on reruns.

Not to be confused with "Trigger Happy TV".

AMC was the staple of the old folks' home in "Green Mile".
