Indoor snowman booth   (+3)  [vote for, against]
As real as it gets

It is traditional in some cultures to construct humanoid effigies from snow.

These need to be in cold conditions, or - unsurprisingly - they melt.

A snowman indoors in anywhere other than an ice hotel is therefore impractical.

Until now ...

Yes, you CAN have an indoor snowman, thanks to the BorgCo Indoor Snowman Booth !

The booth is a corner unit, consisting of a thick base containing the refrigeration equipment, sides, transparent plastic panels, and a roof; the "front" is mostly open to the room. Structural fabrication is from brushed stainless steel. The booth resembles a small corner shower cabinet.

Turn the unit on, then go and build your snowman. Carefully place the snowman in the booth, where the circulating chilled air will keep it in perfect condition for weeks or months. Low energy LED lighting illuminates the figure from various angles, and different colours can be selected, all via the handheld remote control or through the wifi link and app, which also provides local and offsite information such as a high-temperature alert.

When you create a bronze sculpture, the first thing you make is a clay version of your sculpture on a metal armature. You should be able to make a snowman using this technique; So, you would create an armature out of copper tubing and then pack snow around the armature to make the snowman. Refrigerant would be pumped around the tubing, as in a fridge, to keep the snowman cold. If the copper tubing had vanes, this would give the snow more gription and also help heat transfer. The added structural strength of the tubing will allow snowman shapes that would be impossible with traditional snowman construction techniques.

I should employ you to make my indominable snowman.

You could save on piping by only putting the refrigeration system into the lower part of the torso.

But then the rest would melt disproportionately fast, and all you'd have left would be an Abdominal Snowman ...

When you burn down your house after robbing yourself, all that will remain will be the steaming puddle of this version of a snowman.

At trades job fairs and the like, the refrigeration technicians sometimes make sculptures like that. They just bend the refrigerating tube into whatever shape and turn it on, and it generates frost out of the air.
