A weighty idea

A sort of singing - or speaking - telegram, where a scruffy, disheveled and and rather manic (but utterly brilliant) comedian comes to your door and delivers the message in the form of nonsense verse, comedic prose, or by means of an improvised jazz trumpet solo.

This idea may indeed already exist somewhere, but despite extensive use of filters and search engines it has so far been impossible to identify.

I left my vest and socks there;

// any decent impersonators on file? //

We tried using a replicator to produce one, but ended up with a two metre tall mouth-breathing idiot dressed as a boy scout ... not the desired outcome.

Producing one by other means does not seem to be possible, as apparently you can't get the wood, you know.

// Does your talent agency have any decent impersonators on file?// 8th himself does a fine impersonation of an opera singing cockroach. It's an impressive spectacle, witnessing a powerful aria being emitted from within the confines of a Roach Motel. [yea to a Spike visit any day or night] +

A Milgram by contrast, is a telegram that arrives at your door and by adopting an authoritative tone, encourages you to deliver a massive and possibly lethal electric shock to an unwilling participant.
-- zen_tom, Dec 17 2020

That sounds good. Do you get a video to keep ? Are they expensive ?
-- 8th of 7, Dec 17 2020

It later transpires that the unwilling participant was a confederate of the scheme operators and their jerky/scream-filled response to your pressing of the button is only a performance.

Well that's no fun ... fraud, we call it. False pretences.

Yeah right; like you would ever handle a cat yourself...

What [zen_tom] said.

// like you would ever handle a cat yourself //

Heaven forfend; no, we always use specially engineered Acme-BorgCo telemanipulators for remote handling. There are two types; one designed for the utmost delicacy and precision (for dead cats) and the other massively forceful, clumsy and brutal (for the ones that are, for the time being, still alive).

Before rushing pell mell into this concept I suggest you conduct Millagram's Experiment.
