Culture: Public Holiday
Random Holiday Generator   (+8, -1)  [vote for, against]
It picks the day...you celebrate.

Thanks to all the recent religious posts, I thought it might be nice to dispense with reasons for holidays (just so everyone can share). This simple little program would randomly pick days of the year, place a random (or surreal) title on it and print a nice, little calendar to follow.

Additional bonus: Greeting card companies would have fits.

Yes, it's a big download for a small program but the runtime is required. [phoenix, Jun 26 2002, last modified Oct 05 2004]

An extra day of doing nothing - gets my vote.

My birthday, [po]? Tosh. That was yesterday. Who's is it today?

([Amos Kito], I just looked up August 16... Am I seeing things or do Kathy Lee and Frank Gifford share a birthday???)
