Prehistoric Weapons with a Twist

Smart Rocks are the latest development in third world ergonomic weaponry. These "rocks" are designed to seek out the enemy and deliver blunt-force trauma with pinpoint precision. Rioters on the street can simply hurl a smart rock toward the general direction of the Police, and an internal satellite-based chip will guide the rock effectively toward the taget while minimizing collateral damage.

Might want to change the category.

[acurafan07], welcome to the 'bakery. OK, what I mean is, well done.

Might want to explain how this doesn't rely on magic.
-- Texticle, Apr 18 2007

Rather than rocks, I think you'll find that the Third World uses the very latest in military technology.

If they collectively used rocks, then they would probably be able to afford other things, like food. Then again, the Second and First Worlds would promptly re-invade them, just so they could sell them more military technology.

How about a tool that sends a rock at high speed precisely at a designated target?
-- Galbinus_Caeli, Apr 18 2007

[DrCurry], third world governments use the very latest in military technology. The rest of the third world uses rocks, usually on the worse sort of third world government (right, Bob?). Though to give them their due, a lot of third world governments aren't that bad as governments go.

[Furball], the problem with satellite control is, who do you think is going to have better control of the satellite, the rioter or the police?
-- Ned_Ludd, Apr 19 2007

[Ned] That depends which side the First World governments are on at the moment. Notably fickle, they are. One minute they're on the rioter's side, next minute they're on the police (third world government) side.

And of course there's always a further complication, that the police aren't always on the third world government's side, either.

Trebuchet

To be sure.

This is magic, as you haven't supplied any way of steering the rock. And I don't see how you could. Still, a smart rock could be useful. It could have an audio pickup, for instance, so you could overhear what the police are saying to each other.

Slingshot. Ancient version: sling.
