The Tale of Pita Rabbit   (+1)  [vote for, against]
Tasty ...

The liver-warming story of a young Kurdish rabbit who strays across the fence into Farmer Recep Tayyip McErdogan's field, where he is caught by the Janissaries*, tortured, brutally interrogated, summarily executed, skinned, sprinkled with herbs and salt, roasted on a vertical spit, and finally thinly sliced and served in a warmed Middle Eastern flatbread accompanied by salad and a yoghurt and mint sauce.

Available now in the foyer.

*Not what you might think, but in some ways even more unpleasant.

known in Turkish as Sancak-ı Şerif [8th of 7, Mar 03 2018]

You just saw the same promotional as me, have you got a bug in my living room?

Ah, no, just worked it out..

We're still in [IT]'s cluttered cranium aren't we..

So of course you're seeing the same stuff as me.

Got it in one. We're all still a product of [IT]'s deranged imagination.

What's that smell ?
-- 8th of 7, Mar 02 2018

//where he is caught by the Janissaries//

So it's a period piece then?
-- Skewed, Mar 02 2018

//What's that smell ?//

It's the wire frame model of the Great Pyramid of Giza made from lobster antennae*

You were wrong.. they're not frozen.

*& definitely not the gas I left on, I stopped paying them ages ago, as a result I never experience existential angst, they cut me off.
-- Skewed, Mar 02 2018

//a period piece//

Technically Janissaries are always up to date, because the word is an anglicisation of a Turkish phrase meaning something like "new soldiers". "Yeni" means "new" and ... something else means "soldiers".

We might be. How would we know?
-- pertinax, Mar 03 2018

Flavour, and also promotion of cruelty. As therapy, I suggest spending time in a cage, coated with liquid catnip and an army of cats on the outside rubbing up against you, and licking your bare skin with rasping tongues.
-- xenzag, Mar 03 2018

I didn't know cats needed therapy.
-- pertinax, Mar 03 2018

They do after we get at them.

Those very few that survive, that is.

// Flavour, //

It's a movie, not a recipe. The herbs are purely incidental.

// and also promotion of cruelty //

Erdogan's already president, how much further can he be promoted ? Are you suggesting he should be Caliph, like the Ottoman sultans ? He would like that.
-- 8th of 7, Mar 03 2018

//Are you suggesting he should be Caliph//

Caliph, that's (sort of) like the Muslim equivalent of Pope or Holy Roman Emperor isn't it?

So it might be a bit difficult to get the international Muslim community to accept him as Caliph, wouldn't it?

As I sort of remember him being on record as saying he wants Turkey to be (kind of) secular?
-- Skewed, Mar 03 2018

That's very slightly amusing, and almost clever.

// the Muslim equivalent of Pope or Holy Roman Emperor isn't it? //

Pretty much. Turkey have a good claim due to the heritage of the Ottoman empire, and the fact that they have Mohammed's war banner tucked away somewhere. However, they can't do anything about the Ka'aba or the Dome of the Rock as they are fixed geographically.

// So it might be a bit difficult to get the international Muslim community to accept him as Caliph, wouldn't it? //

There would be a horrendous amount of pointless slaughter, bloodshed and suffering, inflicted by muslims on muslims. Also, a ready market for weapons, so it's a win-win situation, really.

// As I sort of remember him being on record as saying he wants Turkey to be (kind of) secular? //

What, no Turkeys voting for Christmas ? Shame !
