Project to Pour Cordial into the Sea

The performance artist walks to the end of a pier or similar jetty type structure by the sea. He wears a suit & tie and carries an industrial size bottle of cordial (Raspberry, Orange & Mango etc). The performer pours the bottle into the sea, waits a few seconds and then leaves. The Performance continues once a week for 3 weeks. At the end of this period, results will be taken by observation on and around the shoreline. Darwin's theory regarding evolution suggests that humans were born from the sea - as fish that once swam and were eventually lured to the land by temptations that were unavailable to them underwater. This performance is an attempt to PROVE HIS THEORY by introducing aquatic life to the WONDERS OF FLAVOURED DRINKS - thus recreating the evolution process! It is believed that the essential difference between humans and fish, is that humans can choose what it is that they can drink. The fish must forever sip from the eternal refreshment that is their home. If the fish do not eveolve during the performance, it CONCLUSIVELY PROVES one or a number of things: 1. Fish do not want to leave the water, 2. Fish do not like the particular flavours offered, 3. Darwin was wrong, thus proving the existence of God, 4. Humans have never really been able to choose what they want to drink: because it is dictated to them by flavoured beverage advertising (coke, pepsi etc) - thus the fish are already aware of this and cannot discern the difference between salt water and Dr. Pepper anyway.

It looks to me like the only thing you're testing is whether the fish have been exposed to advertising.

This could be more accurately determined with a poll. I have some experience designing polling forms; maybe I could help you out.

This project is the first in a series, the second being 'Project to Sell Sea Water to Humans' - an ad campaign to package salt water in brightly coloured bottles and cans. This could bring about a sudden de-evolution (already hinted at by the driving need for the elderly to retire by the sea eg. florida) or substantiate possible answer 4. That refreshment is not related to choice - that we go straight for the next thing dangled in front of us on a hook. DE-EVOLUTION PROOF! Old people are getting shorter, and some of them even smell like fish!

Careful, benfrost. Old folks seem to get sucked back to childhood but most still know what they want. They ordinarily want you to be just as satisfied as them, and unlike adolescents through early adults, they must have cast iron stomachs! I estimate you'll be hurling your way on up the road while the geros in your Klatch are comparing temperature and feel of the brine and wondering if you're bringing back more, if you remember to.
