This would be a media player that filters out the existing music, using AI to leave in music that's actually part of the movie (such as a character listening to a radio in the car), and synchronizes songs of your choice to substitute for the original score.

[+] also opens the possibility of showing the de-scored music in a cinema with live band or pianist providing the music |

Yeah, Lucasfilm does that when they do screenings of Star Wars with a live orchestra providing the music, but they have to provide a de-scored version of the movie for it. I don't imagine this would ever be legal for use in theaters or other public venues, but for private or free distribution of fan edited movies like Harmy's Despecialized Edition of Star Wars, I could see this being handy. |

Inappropriate soundtracks could be amazing. Death Star Run with the Benny Hill theme. |

Be interesting to have it play a soundtrack the exact opposite of what was playing. So as the psycho killer jumps out of the bushes play a happy song. When the happy couple is walking on the beach play horror music. Just the opposite of whatever the scene called for. Turn any move into an arthouse film. |
