Bogroll thermometer

I think this would be easy to make.

A strip of material is rolled up into a coil, with a weight on the loose end. The coil unfurls. Printed on its visible side is the temperature scale. The warmer, the more is unrolled. The pointer at the top of the visible strip shows the current temperature.

Imagine, it's a bit like a narrow roller blind.

It could be artified, and prettified, in the same way as clocks and watches. It could be put in a glass box and hung outdoors; if large enough, passers-by could gawp at it in the same way as a weather cock, or a church fund raising thermometer.

Nothing is worse than slapping an ice-cold wad onto your arse. The bogroll thermometer would alert you if the sheets were too far from ambient for comfortable wiping

       That's a bogroll bogroll thermometer?

This has nothing to do with bathroom etiquette. "Bogroll" is a mechanical and format description, not a hurry call to the toilet humor.

It's like those thermometers that float balls with the temp on the side in a tall cylinder of fluid. Elegant, cumbersome, overkill. Just what the HB likes. [+]

Sincere apologies. Pray continue as before.
