These cameras can be activated by the owner's of their cars to record stuff at 30 second clips and upload. Drug dealing on your street? Press record remotely to your parked
car, or drive by and send footage to cops. Harder to trace from which car it was sent and no witnesses necessary. Powered by engine-rechargable batteries. Better than CCTV. Maybe for accident liability too.

Well baked by cyclists, usually used for their own defense in accidents etc. Some have secured convictions of their vehicular assailant based on their video footage. The use of video cameras in cars for similar purposes has been discussed fairly widely, though your specific suggestions of mounting the cameras behind the lights, and the automated upload you intimate, may be new. |
