Duplicate Cell Phone

Backup phone for when the primary phone breaks

Today's Internet-dependent people rely on uninterrupted cell phone connectivity. Some redundancy would be nice to have, to avoid the difficulty of navigating and communicating sans phone, in the event of a dropped phone, depleted battery, etc. So, I propose a duplicate cell phone, kept in reserve for when the first cell phone fails.

This is actually a good idea, I have two with separate lines tied into each other. Got a business and personal phone but I get calls, texts etc routed to each. When I need to make a work call I use...

okay, getting boring, but I like the backup factor. [+]

Need a physical phone? Why not use the full cloud backup on any other device if the phone is lost or broken? We already have a "duplicate."

A duplicate phone containing a parallel universe of alternative social media data, messages and emails is an essential item for all future visitors to the USA. This is to comply with the new requirement for all visitors to hand over 5 years of their social media history to the waiting ICE/Gestapo/Stasi agents who confront all new arrivals. It's one of the reasons why visitor numbers are through the floor. Everyone (including myself and all my friends) are terrified to go there.

A 'clean' phone duplicate is essential, on which there is strong support expressed for example of Putin's war in Ukraine; denials of global warming; warnings about getting vaccinated and recipes for cooking up tasty road kill.

The concept of having a second phone is widely known to exist, but what I propose is having a duplicate or a backup of the primary phone.

Then I request that the idea include the duplication part of it.

Cloning phones is phones is very possible, and how a lot of fraud is perpetrated. So while it could be convenient, I suspect the relevant parties are actively working against the general concept. A solid backup strategy is the way to go.

I've been doing this for years. Both my work and personal phones are Samsung Galaxy S-line models, so I routinely backup my main one and restore that backup to the work phone, so no matter which one I grab I can continue what I was doing last *mostly* uninterrupted.

I could keep this right beside my second cup of coffee. (historical in-joke).
