Famous People Pointing Out The Time (Now with animals too)

Sequence of pictures of people pointing at the appropriate numbers on the clock.
  (+4, -1)
(+4, -1)

Have the hour lit up or circled. Then every minute a new picture appears of a famous, iconic or historical person pointing to the minute on the clock face, a line extending from their finger to the clock numbers.

A brilliant piece of work, which I've had the pleasure of seeing in its entirety a few years ago. [xenzag, May 21 2026]

Had Elvis at minute 42 so looked up Douglas Adams [pashute, May 24 2026]

       So is it based on:
1. Pictures of them actually pointing at that angle? 2. Pictures of them actually pointing, with ai pointing to correct location? 3. Picutres of celebs with ai pointing to minute?

I made a project that actually checks the options and first prototype works!!!

But don't want to waste my AI time on searching the images.

An early check found a list of hours. Don't have time (minutes and hours, just joking) to copy it now maybe later. its a holiday this evening and gotta get going. I'\ll put a link to a screenshot and to the github.

is there a doc emulac 1 and 2

what is emulac referring to. emulation? the milk emulsifier? or is your name e. Mulacovskyovichsky-Berghoff
pashute, May 21 2026

I think this is not ambitious enough. Instead of having the hour circled, we need the celeb pointing with both hands, one hand more extended than the other. If this is going to usurp the mickey-mouse wristwatch then it needs to be done properly.

       //is there a doc emulac 1 and 2//

Yes, when I tried to pick a name doctorremulac was already taken, as was doctorremulac1 and doctorremulac2.

I didn't think I'd be using it for more than a couple of posts. It's from some guy that used to call into the Howard Stern show. (not me) (link)

//So is it based on: 1. Pictures of them actually pointing at that angle?//

       Yes.

You actually did it? That's awesome!
doctorremulac3, May 21 2026

Very clever. Could there be different versions specifically for fans of (e.g.) Basketball, Soccer, Science, politics (L and R), Actors (M and F), Cartoons, and animals?
bhumphrys, May 21 2026

I'd actually have this on my desktop and yes, you could select who you wanted pointing out the time.

And why stop at humans? (link)

They'd have to be real pictures though, no AI.
doctorremulac3, May 21 2026

//They'd have to be real pictures though, no AI.//

For the ultimate conspicuous spending fad, you have a clockface on the wall of your entertaining room, and you hire an actual celeb (film star, rock star, whatever) to stand silently in front of it and point the actual time for the entire evening. Your dinner guests will have a hard time beating that at the next party they host.
pocmloc, May 21 2026

If somebody had the money to do that, that would turn me, a free market capitalist, into a commie on that alone.

Now if the money went to poor people that might be okay.

Had a similar idea, Brad Pitt mows your lawn. Still think that would help fix the image of Hollywood types being elitist snobs.
doctorremulac3, May 21 2026

How about an obvious one, based on the timeless money maker, that would need to be 'delivered in a brown wrapper''?
bhumphrys, May 22 2026

       You could select your particulars.

I might go as far as WW2 bomber nose art but that's about it.
doctorremulac3, May 22 2026

i'll have dr. remulak for 12 oclock.
