When peace breaks out in Ukraine, I propose that former sappers comb the fields and gather cut ends of the bazillion strands of fiber-optic wire that criss-crosses the entire southeast of the country in a glistening blanket. The cut ends are bundled and inserted into devices that generate intense light.
A remote signal activates the light 'bulb' along with a chosen constellation of other gathered strands and their 'bulbs.'
If timed correctly a peace wave could be seen from space and on the ground the effect would sweep by in whatever direction or pattern desired.
