A device that sees you are always 3 cars away, and you pay for every time and for the amount of time you don't.
If you don't have the device, or its not registered, they send you through the jammed side road, besides paying a fine for the attempt.
The device forces you to cooperate with the other
drivers so there's never a traffic jam.

[pashute] I believe that it is impossible to delete links nowadays. I believe that annotations and ideas may still be deleted. I have not yet tried deleting my account to see if that works or not. |

Instead of implementing this on the vehicle, it could be implemented on the roadway. A bit like those V shapes painted on the road, but have each V fitted with a retractable stinger the full width of the lane. The stinger pokes up very visible just after a vehicle has passed, and does not retract for a certain clearly advertised number of seconds. |
