The current crop of toasters on the market is still in the stone age if you ask me. If your bread is too dry it can burn up. If moist, theres a risk that it ends up with a mere light tan. The simple idea I have is for a better design of toaster equipped with an Infrared thermopile sensor cell specifically
tuned to pick up certain chemical bonds, for example furans, produced at the tail end of the maillard reaction. The toast vapour is pulled through the sensor cell. Just as the bread starts to char, the heating element is switched off. A solenoid, or something, ejects the yummy product. Works every time with all breads.
Could be combined with [Xenzag]s recent idea.

Approved. Reminds me to post another toaster idea..... |

I would think it needs an array of such sensors coupled intelgaricalluy to an array of smal heating emlements. Sich than the toasterliciousing happens arotically acoass the fie;ld pf play. |

In an age of $3500 coffee grinders for the home, why not? |

I would like the Inflatable toaster |

The Heimann sensor could be expensive, yes. If we could get away with a Bosch BME688 VOC sensor, it could be more like an additional thirty bucks/ pounds for the feature. |
