My Eyes Are Up Here Pendant

Training tool for men

A small pendant that hangs in the area of a woman’s cleavage. Equipped with a camera, microphone, proximity detector, and some lights. Minimal programming to detect speech, and if someone is staring at it.

When the pendant detects someone is talking to the wearer while staring at her breasts, it could either 1) blink a light, 2) play a recorded message - “hey, what are you lookin at?” - or 3) silently record the interaction for use in filing a workplace harassment complaint.

Belt buckle version also available for the well endowed man.

       You have no right to tell me where to look. I am not responsible for other peoples neuroticism. As for the male version, men are much more commonly objectified for their wallets, so it should be mounted on the watch or car.

       // You have no right //

       Me? I based this idea on a joke from my wife.

       // men are much more commonly objectified for their wallets //

       Poor little thing, if that’s what women notice about you.

       //I based this idea on a joke from my wife. //

       Oh, I didn't know, I'm sorry. Let me rephrase that.

       Your wife has no right to tell me where to look.

       // Poor little thing, if that’s what women notice about you.//

       That's what women notice about men in general. You can deny this but you would be wrong. As for me they notice my lack of social skills first so it doesn't get that far.

       Voice's anti-feminism rant.
Voice, Aug 29 2021

       Why would anyone look at the eyes of the person they are talking to? That sounds intrusive and a bit terrifying.

       Shoes is safest - well below boob level and safely distant from eye contact.

       Heh.
My beat up pick up truck, faded jeans, sweat-satined ball cap and $20 sneakers ensure that I am only ever hit on for being awsomely buff and charismatic...

"Oh lord it's hard to be humble... when you're perfect in every way. I can't wait to look in the mirror. I get better lookin each day. To know me is to love me. I must be one hell of a man. Yes lord it's hard to be humble... but I'm doing the best that I can."

       //the wedding ring doesn't deter them//

       A wedding ring is proof of value and attracts women, but you knew that.
Voice, Aug 29 2021

       A wedding ring is proof that 'one' person found sufficient value in you to marry you (given the fairly broad assumption that you're not just some sad weirdo who wears a marriage band despite never having been married), some women must also be aware that some other women just have bad taste, so don't expect it to be universally accepted as a measure of worth.

       Well I suppose this is an improvement on the traditional printed T-shirt with those words which constitutes little more than entrapment.

       [Me, more than once]

       'You have something written on your T-shirt & expect me NOT to read it?'

       'What?'

       'I was taking a long time about it, am I a slow reader?'

       'No not really, but I often re-read something I enjoyed the first time'

       'Yes, several times on occasion'

       range extender, or codpiece?

       //As for me they notice my lack of social skills first so it doesn't get that far.//

       That problem is very hard, but not insoluble, [Voice]. Also, it is not caused by feminism as such (though there are reasons why you might think it was).
pertinax, Aug 31 2021

       //is not caused by feminism as such//

       I didn't say it was. Feminism is evil, but there exist other evils in the world. And most of them are pure happenstance. Like floods, disease, and accidents of genetics. The reason I don't rail against floods is that no one is pushing for more flooding for their own personal power and wealth.

       //Feminism is evil//

       Hmm... which particular feminist authors, that you have read, made this impression on you?
pertinax, Sep 01 2021

       Mostly the laws and outcomes feminists push for make that impression on me. Like the Violence against Women act which did nothing more than gender legal protections that previously had been ungendered. Predominant aggressor laws. Failure to support male victims of domestic violence. Direct hiring and wage bias by sex. Subsidizing divorce. Biased family courts. Biased criminal courts. Biased civil courts. Spreading misandry. Abusing science journalism.

       //is evil//

       Are you actually saying that social, political, and economic equality of the sexes is evil?

       Or is it that you've had interactions that didn't work out the way you liked?

       Who would need to push for equality of //power and wealth// unless they had been denied that equality?
Frankx, Sep 01 2021

       //Are you actually saying that social, political, and economic equality of the sexes is evil? //

       Feminists don't want or push for equality.

       //Or is it that you've had interactions that didn't work out the way you liked?//

       Nice try but it's not about me.

       //Who would need to push for equality of //power and wealth// unless they had been denied that equality?//

       Need to? No one. Do it anyway? many, many people who want to be more equal than others.
Voice, Sep 01 2021

       //Nice try// - no seriously, I'm not trying to undermine. I've had many unpleasant and furious rows with feminists about many, many things!

       But I do still support gender equality as an ideal and think we're not there yet.

       I don't know anything about American law. In the UK, women are disproportionately the victims of domestic violence (UK 2017: 1.2 million female, 713,000 male). I think a justice system that takes that into account is probably a good thing.

       I do totally agree that our system (and probably the US system) badly fails to support male victims of domestic violence too.
Frankx, Sep 01 2021

       //I do still support gender equality as an ideal and think we're not there yet. //

       Do you not see the logic problem in this statement? Gender equality is neither a binary nor is it a point on a line. Neither is it, in fact, possible since men and women are biologically different, making different choice and having different needs and desires.

       But women have more economic power than men, more legal power, and easier lives in general.IIRC about 40% of domestic violence victims are men, and the great majority of domestic violence is mutual. I don't blame feminism for that statistic. I blame feminism for denying it and preventing efforts that could reduce domestic violence for both men and women. "stridently blame one sex" isn't helping.

       //women have more economic power than men, more legal power, and easier lives in general//

       I don't know what sources you would accept. These might generally be viewed as impartial:

       World Bank [link]

       World Health Organisation [link]
Frankx, Sep 02 2021

       //economic//

       Women tend to earn less than men. But they spend more. Their desires are cared about more among those who make and sell most products. And don't even get me started on the "pink tax". The fact is women have more economic power than men.

       //health//

       Seriously? living longer than men, being more likely to be willing to go to the doctor for their ills, being more likely to be cared for when their sick, this is being worse off?

       //seats of power//

       So politicians, who cater to the electorate, don't care about women? How about the fact that women who run for office are as likely to be elected? Women are less likely to want those powerful jobs that take an enormous amount of time and work but when they do they're just as successful.

       //Gender inequality disproportionately affects women and girls. In most societies, they have lower status and have less control over decision-making about their bodies, in their intimate relationships, families and communities, exposing them to violence, coercion and harmful practices//

       Complete and utter bollocks. In EVERY society men are the ones who sacrifice themselves for women. In EVERY society men are more likely to be victims of violence and coercion. And harmful practices? How about tearing little boys from their fathers and lopping off parts of babies bodies? Do baby boys have the right to not suffer grievous bodily harm yet?
