Overhead Power and data cable

You're on the London underground and later on a plane and there is a cable that suspends from the ceiling next to every seat. This cable provides data transfer and power to your phone. Perhaps USB C and modified to provide data transit too.

No need to use battery or WiFi

Alternatively the cable could come out of the chair in front..some buses have usb c ports but no cable

A visit to the average international airport will show you how USB outlets holdup to extremely high traffic - poorly. USB-C is slightly better, but not night and day. Wireless charging and wireless data transfer are the way in this environment, nothing to wear out and much fewer hardware changes when upgraded protocols come along.

       Thanks for your comment bs0u0155

I was thinking the cable would be hardwired and not socketed. One end goes into the travellers phone.

The cable literally is coming from the ceiling into your lap.

A convenient strangling length then, on public transport?
